Dr. Milcah Abasabyona, is a dedicated early career Interdisciplinary researcher with over 12 years of hand on research experience. Her research cuts across disciplines of anthropology, humanities, and social sciences with a focus on Youths and Women in varied settings. She has experience of researching both in Urban peripherals and the most challenging remote areas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Gulu University, a Master’s degree in Anthropology of Education and Globalization from Aarhus University in Denmark and an interdisciplinary PhD in Development Studies from Makerere University. Her expertise in research is exemplified in the collaborative research projects with renown think tank organizations such Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE), fellowships with globally recognized institutions like Next Generation Social Sciences Research Council (Next Gen SSRC) and cross-country collaborative research teams on projects like Certifications of Citizenship in Africa (CERTIZENS) working together closely as teams from Uganda, Ghana and Denmark. She is a co-founder Ukweli Interdisciplinary Research Network (UIRN), a research organization and consultancy firm operating in Uganda and beyond. Her research interests include: Legal Identification, Citizenship, Education, urban marginality, informal economy, and peacebuilding.
